Coming soon … Out of Africa …

Well, not exactly ‘Out of Africa’, but definitely inspired by Africa. This latest series of artworks was conceived during the cold winter months as a means for my mind to escape to a hotter climate. Loosely based on Savannah sunsets, African colours and images, this series kept me going through the ‘black dog days’.

The original inspiration came from a couple of ‘tourist trophy’ sculptures that I acquired and some news that a big football competition of some sort was coming up and it was being hosted by South Africa. So I did a bit of research for inspiration, and this is the result. Most of the pieces are very plain, warm sunsets with just a featured silhouette, but a few go off at a complete tangent and are very different, so hopefully there will be something to appeal to a variety of tastes. My fellow artist Jo Gaulton has also contributed a very unique art piece for this series and she will introduce it soon.
