A Trip to Woolacombe

I needed to find out what it was about Woolacombe that gives Fina so much inspiration for her artwork, so I invited myself along on her last trip. I blagged a lift and she took me with her family and provided me with ‘digs’ in her caravan.
Frieze art fair

As Frieze, the most important European contemporary art fair, opened its doors in London, there was one stand where work was defiantly affordable. And that wasn’t just because of the 20-30% that has been slashed off prices since the market plunged last year.

Graffiti has grown from an underground street art to a legitimate art form in some places. The style is decidedly urban and edgy, and the artwork is seen by more people in a day than most museum pieces see in a year. If you’re interested in learning how to graffiti, here’s a legal way to learn how to do it.

Music shop shopping!
October 23, 2009 by Emily Omara · Leave a Comment
On a recent visit to Bristol with Ruth Hulme a good friend and fellow artist I work with, the lure of ‘Fopp’ record shop was really too compelling to ignore. It really is a record shop Bristol can be proud of, and for out-of-towners like Ruth and I it’s a bit of a lifeline. Praising Fopp in this way has probably left some Bristolians a bit miffed, I’m not stupid and I realise that Bristol’s a pretty big place and there’s probably some brilliant little dodgy underground record shops elsewhere, though I fear these are far from the beaten track, and without a guide it really wouldn’t be fair to traipse the city with Ruthy in quest of what someone else thinks is a ‘hip’ record shop. Conveniently Fopp is so easy to locate and unlike the other stores that line Park Street it’s not all extortionately over priced!
Hunting for Cows!

I hope you liked my duck paintings. While painting ducks I really missed my cows, so I have decided to add some more cows to the collection and extend the family even more. I have had a very busy couple of months painting so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Daisy and Hyacinth and a new version of Maisy with a lighter background
colour. (see gallery news)
